Dental Clinic: A Partnership with UCSF & BAWCC

Tenderloin parents’ number ONE wish when the school was being designed was for on-site dental services for their children at the school. To address this request, a full-service Dental Clinic was built into the lower level of the school.

The resulting state-of-the-art Dental Clinic is available to all 350 students. BAWCC and UCSF’s Pediatric Dentistry Division formed a partnership in 2002, and the dentists and staff have worked on hundreds of students each year since the Clinic opened.  Most had never seen a dentist before they came to this Clinic. Children are seen during school hours and receive check-ups, teeth cleaning, x-rays, fillings, sealants and crowns when needed.  After their dental work is done, students can go right back to their classes.
